England Jurisdictions 1851 is an interactive map showing the extent of parishes, hundreds, civil registration districts, poor law unions and other jurisdictions in that year. The alternative map views available include satellite and a default map displaying parish and county boundaries. By zooming in, boundaries can be seen with considerable precision. A list of the works consulted when the map was created can be accessed from a drop-down menu, as can a glossary of technical terms and guidance on how to carry out searches.

  • For some items we list, copyright has expired and so they are in the public domain. It is important to comply with copyright restrictions where they do apply.
